Some art
For those of you who may not be aware, I plan on continuing on to study architecture once I graduate from my technology program. In an effort to better my drawing skills, and to build a better portfolio (which you need to apply for architecture), I've been taking an evening drawing class. I've had several works come from these classes that turned out fairly well. This one is graphite on paper, and is entitled "S&P." (guess why)The next class I am taking is a pen-and-ink class. Pen-and-ink is the traditional medium for architectural drawings, so I thought that would be good skill to have, even though that art form is dying. The subjects we will be drawing will be wildlife, which is not my favorite to draw, but the skills should be transferable.More and more these days, architects are turning to software to render architectural details. Google SketchUp is one of the more popular choices, because it is easy to use, and the results are pretty good. There is a free version of this software, which is all I use, but there are upgrades you can pay for. This model is of a library for which I have been assigned as my major project this semester. The model is for the cover page for the working drawing set.
