K ... what's RAIC exactly? (oh, and congrats; I assume this is good news!)

RAIC is the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada. It's the national governing body for architects. The syllabus is a correspondence based program they offer to study architecture without having to go to university full-time. Syllabus students must be employed full-time at an architectural office, and study during the evening, thus it takes much longer to complete the program....ie. 10 years.

I get advanced standing because of my SIAST education, and should get credit for about 25-30% of the courses, so it should only take about 6-7 years for me.
