My new favorite sketching pens...Staedtler Triplus Fineliner
A big part of learning how to be an architect is learning how to sketch and draw. If you can't communicate your ideas, how do you ever expect to get people to buy into them?
Of course, nowadays, it is almost easier to using computer modelling software to sketch ideas, but that isn't always an option. Say, for instance, you are in a meeting or meeting a client on site or for lunch, and you don't have a computer at hand. Plus, the sketch needs to come to reality within seconds, then you need to whip out the pen and paper. Also, I like the feeling of putting ink and graphite to paper. It's a very primal feeling to hand draw your ideas.
I like to practice by simply re-creating images in mags and books of ideas that I like.
So, I've discovered these pens. They have nice colours, and a smooth feeling as they run across the paper. The ink flows nice, they are a triangular shaped barrel for easy grip, the tip doesn't dry out if left un-capped, and they aren't too expensive.
Check them out here.
