Well, I am all finished school for another semester. It was a really good semester, as the workload was lighter, the term was only three months long, we spent a lot of time outside, and it was less technical. There was a greater focus on design considerations, and we did a lot of work involving older existing buildings and heritage sites, which is an interest of mine. Part of this semester involved earning an Applied Certificate in Architectural Heritage and Building Renovation, whatever that means, but it sounds cool. There was even an history class in architecture, which was the most university-like class yet, and was a breath of fresh air after learning too many technical details in semesters past.
Now I am back at work at P3A for the rest of the year, and it is good to be back there.
Crystal and I took a much needed holiday this past week. For five of our ten days away we went camping at Waskesiu. And even though it rained for a good portion of the time, and was more often cloudy than not, it was still relaxing and we were able to sneak in a few hours of basking in the sun. All I have to say, though, is thank goodness for tarps and fatherly advice to dig a trench around one's tent (cockroach). Oh, and we found where are the mosquitos are hanging out.

Congrats on almost being done. I might have to bring you into my class as a guest speaker! (I'm teaching interior design this year, and a portion of the curriculum includes the history of architecture)

dumb question....dig a trench? how do u do that exactly and the total purpose is? i mean i have an idea but you're smart and outdoorsy. : )
Our campsite was flooding a bit, and the water was heading towards our tent. So, I took an axe (the back side of it) and dug a very shallow trench to re-direct the water around our tent so we wouldn't get wet. The cockroach reference is for my dad...too long to explain.
Kimmer...it'd be fun to be a guest speaker at your class, but I am sure there are plenty of other people much more qualified to do so than myself.
