Dear Your Honorable Ralph Goodale,
I have been hearing reports that the Canadian public is not as strongly opposed to a federal election as it was earlier this year. Let me advise that this is certainly not the case. I, and many of my work and social peers, are strongly opposed to the idea of another election at this time. I am very tired of all the "politicking" surrounding election calls. It seems to me that if as much energy that was spent on speculating on elections was put into making a minority government function effectively, then there would be no need for an election.
As much as there are flaws in the American system, I believe their "fixed-election dates" legislation is a good idea. Regardless of how poorly of effectively any given leader or party is governing, they should not have to expend their time constantly looking over their shoulder wondering if the opposition is out to coalesce with another party against. Help them govern well, and if they are unable to, then you will get your chance in four years time. If the Liberal Party leads us to an election in 2009 or early 2010, then I will, despite my apathy, vote NOT in your favour.
Please convey my thoughts to your leader and party.
Respectfully Yours,
Wade Klassen

love the part 'help them govern well'
I mean isn't that the whole point of a opposition gov't?
they take their title too seriously sometimes and oppose everything. Me smells advertising in such measures.
btw. I caved and joined facebook. I know, I am a wimp but the tidal wave was too strong.

does the gp endorse fixed election dates?
