Day 1 - sorting the gear at Four Portages on Stanley Mission Road.
Day 1 - hitting the open water of Lac La Ronge. Stupid head-winds.
Day 1 - look close to see the Bald Eagle. She led us to the last day...our guide.
Day 2 - one of four portages. This one had a cart and light rail system.
Day 2 - after we swamped our canoe going through some rapids....lesson...better communication required between canoe-mates.
Day 2 - camp...very windy...glad to get off of water with white-caps.
Day 3 - it's hard to justly photograph Nistowiak falls.
Day 3 - short portage in the rain.
Day 4 - very old First Nations cliff art.
Day 4 - approaching the end. Stanley Mission visible on the left, Holy Trinity Anglican Church visible on the right, Wade visible in the middle.

The canoe club here is doing the same trip later this month. I'm not sure if your pics have helped me decide if I should go or not (especially the portage in the rain pic).
Go...absolutely go...a smidge of bad weather will only enhance the experience.
Just make sure you pack all your gear in waterproof sacks. You can actually buy these huge ziploc bags now at Walmart and CT. They don't work quite as well as a drysack, but they're pretty good.
GO!

wow, looks like great fun. I wanna hear all about it. Hey, was Mark Holmstrum on this trip? Just curious, a friend's husband who was on a canoe trip same time as you were.
Good trip for teens? (looking into next year already)
