chip knives

Apparently that previous post about the church was my 200th blog entry. Kewl!

I had a new purchase arrive in my mail box last week. I ordered a coupla chip knives from Lee Valley. I had a gift card to use that I got from my pal Matt (He works there 'n stuff, and I MC'd his wedding so he owed me), so I decided to get some smaller carving knives to complement the nice piece of bass (?) wood he also got me.

I've been planning on taking up carving for some time now, and even received a book on carving last year. However, I want to start small, and my wife would like some hand-carved light switch covers, which is a perfect project for the wood I now have. However, my current (un-used) carving set is a bit too large for such small work I think.
Anyway, I'll keep you posted.

My time right now, however, is consumed with trying to design a tattoo I want to get before I move away from Regina by the end of the year.
