Things about Regina - Pt.2

These may seem like unrevealing photos, but the big, square grey object in the middle is a great solution to an ubiquitous problem in architecture.
These photos were taken behind the UofR's College Ave. campus (beind Darke Hall in particular), otherwise known as "Old Campus." It consists of 4 buildings, some of which date back to the turn of the 20th century. This sculptural looking element actually encloses all the mechanical equipment (heating and a/c equipment) for one of the buildings. The equipment couldn't be placed on the roof, as it is a sloped roof with SLATE tiles, and instead of just plunking it on the ground behind a chain link fence, they (I need to find out who exactly) built this item to shield it from view. If you look closely in the last aerial photo, you can actually see the condenser fans.
Genius! Much more attractive to look at. You don't know the equipment is there.
