Nail House

My friend, Caroline, beat me to the punch on this one, so I give her the credit. But check out her blog here to read more about this crazy house in China.
(P.S. It's 10m (ie. 30 feet) up in the air.)

you heard the story on CBC too, no doubt! I was contemplating posting the pic on my blog but decided not to. Apparently the lady & her house is becoming a phenomenon and the company she's up against (and the government as well, I think) don't like the attention she's getting. Crazy story.

I see you have CMHC linked on the left. I've gotten to know that site this month and didn't realize how many programs there are out there to give money to people for housing purposes. I saw a program for money to people who want to take a non-residential building and convert it to residential. Then I saw a listing for a church close to the river on the east side ($399,900 list price) and thought, "Man, if Wade had a business set up already, he could get money to convert that church and it'd be worth a lot of money for residential living" Given the boom in real estate in this city, it'd be the perfect time to do it. Oh well. I'll dream about it!

Here's the link to the church:

Could you imagine making that into a residence?

It has been Crystal's dream to buy a church to live in! If only....if only...

hm, it's too contemporary for me, I prefer the old Catholic brick buildings personally. Or maybe a neat looking temple. But the space would be awesome for a studio/gallery...
